Vadim Vapnyar is a partner who has been with the firm since 2005. He has expertise in all phases of patent and trademark prosecution. Mr. Vapnyar is involved in the strategic management of intellectual property portfolios covering multiple commercial products on behalf of corporate and university clients across a wide array of technologies, including artificial intelligence and machine learning; software, hardware, and controller-based systems; robotic and powered surgical systems; medical devices; pharmaceuticals and diagnostics; IoT and web-enabled devices; power sources and energy systems; and rechargeable batteries and catalysts. His patent and trademark practice includes conducting due diligence, validity studies, and clearance analyses, as well as preparing opinions. Mr. Vapnyar also advises clients on potential infringement and strategies for maximizing the value of their intellectual property through licensing arrangements.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Computer Science from New York University. Prior to attending law school, he gained engineering experience at design and construction firms before earning his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review.
