Justin Ripley has been with the firm since 2005. He has solid experience in all phases of U.S. and international patent prosecution. He works with clients in developing patent portfolios in the mechanical and electromechanical arts, with an emphasis on biomedical devices. Mr. Ripley also has expertise in conducting due diligence investigations, validity studies and clearance investigations and in preparing related opinions. He effectively collaborates with our wide-ranging network of foreign associates in the prosecution of patents internationally.
Mr. Ripley pursued his interests in mechanical processes and medical arts as an undergraduate, earning his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. His appreciation of mechanical devices, medical arts and electrical engineering made him well-suited for the patent landscape and he earned his J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center.

By understanding the engineering concepts and technical aspects of an array of mechanical devices, and working with clients to understand their business objectives, Mr. Ripley works to provide clients with a high level of service as he guides them through the patent approval process. Mr. Ripley conducts due diligence, patent validity and infringement analysis as a basis for preparing patent opinions.
