Olawale O.C. Otegbade joined the firm in 2018. Mr. Otegbade handles all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution, including reviewing invention disclosures; conducting interviews with inventors; performing patentability searches; preparing provisional, utility, and design applications; and responding to office actions. He focuses his patent practice on software, electrical/computer, medical devices, and consumer products.
Mr. Otegbade attended New York University Tandon School of Engineering where he earned a B.S. in Computer Engineering. He began his career as a Programmer Analyst for Cognizant Technology Solution, consulting for various clients providing development, testing and defect management. Subsequently after his tenure at Cognizant he became as a System Analyst for Pfizer, Inc. where he analyzed and designed technological solutions to support scientist during various phases of vaccine clinical trials. After becoming aware of the growing opportunities in patent law, he quickly sought attendance at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where he earned his J.D. His diverse background and service to clients makes him well-suited for a career in patent law
Mr. Otegbade has the ability to discern client needs and meet deliverables for a wide-range of clients from large organization to individuals. His technical knowledge, past experience, and passion for the field help clients seek and secure foreign and domestic patent protection in variety of fields including software, electrical/computer and robotics.
Mr. Otegbade was a summer associate with the firm in 2017. Subsequently, he interned at Tapestry, Inc. (formerly Coach, Inc.) and Henry Schein, Inc. assisting with various IP related matters.
