Carter DeLuca partners present to Japanese Patent Attorney Association in Osaka

Carter DeLuca partners George Likourezos and Robert Michal visited Japan during the last week of January to give an intellectual property (IP) presentation in Osaka to the Japanese Patent Attorney Association (JPAA). They discussed U.S. patent practice and best practices for overcoming rejections from the US Patent and Trademark Office. Later in the week, George and Robert gave another IP presentation to members of The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), Japan Chapter in Tokyo. The presentation’s topics included, Efficient Prosecution in the U.S.; Patent Marking; U.S. Design Patent Protection; and U.S. Patent and Trademark Practice – Section 101, 102, and 103 Rejections and How to Overcome Them. Attendees at both presentations included attorneys from Japanese IP law firms and in-house IP counsel from many of Japan’s leading and emerging technology companies.
